法隆寺（ほうりゅうじ）Horyuji Temple

　今回こんかい紹しょう介かいする世せ界かい遺い産さんは、「法ほう隆りゅう寺じ地ち域いきの仏ぶっ教きょう建造物けんぞうぶつ」です。

　1993（平成へいせい5ご）年ねんに、姫ひめ路じ城じょうとともに日に本ほんで最初さいしょの世せ界かい文ぶん化か遺い産さんとして登録とうろくされました。

　この世せ界かい遺い産さんには、法ほう隆りゅう寺じと法ほう起き寺じの2ふたつのお寺てらの中にある木造もくぞうのいろいろな建造物けんぞうぶつが含ふくまれています。

　法ほう隆りゅう寺じと法ほう起き寺じは、奈な良ら県けん生い駒郡斑鳩こまぐんいかるが町ちょうにあります。

　仏ぶっ教きょうというのは、インドの釈迦しゃかが始はじめた宗しゅう教きょうです。

　宗しゅう教きょうとは、人ひとの力ちからや自し然ぜんの力ちからなどを超こえたものを信しんじ、敬うやまい、生いき方かたなどを学まなぶものです。

　人ひとが生うまれた時ときは、親おやや家か族ぞくが信しんじる宗しゅう教きょうの方法ほうほうで祝いわいます。

　そして、人ひとが死しんだ時ときは、死しんだ人ひとや家か族ぞくが信しんじる宗しゅう教きょうの方法ほうほうで弔とむらわれます。

　宗しゅう教きょうには、キリスト教きょう、イスラム教きょう、ヒンドゥー教きょうなどがあります。

　世せ界的かいてきには、仏ぶっ教きょうを信しんじる人ひとは、４番よんばん目めに多おおいのですが、日に本ほんでは、1番いちばん多おおいとされています。

　法ほう隆りゅう寺じは、607年ねんに聖しょう徳とく太たい子しによって、仏ぶっ教きょうを広ひろめるために造つくられたお寺てらです。

　世せ界かいでもっとも古ふるい、木造もくぞう建築けんちくのお寺てらの１ひとつであるとされています。

　石いしなどで作つくられた建物たてものに比くらべると、木きは燃もえやすいので、1000せん年ねん以い上じょうも前まえに、木きを使つかって建たてられたお寺てらが残のこっているのは、本当ほんとうに驚おどろくことです。

　法ほう隆りゅう寺じには、金堂こんどう・五ご重塔じゅうのとう・中ちゅう門もん・回廊かいろうなどの多おおくの建物たてものがあります。

　法ほう起き寺じも、聖しょう徳とく太たい子しが建たてた７ななつの大おおきなお寺てらの１ひとつとされています。

　実際じっさいに建たてられたのは、聖しょう徳とく太たい子しの亡なくなった後あとの638年ねんです。

　法ほう起き寺じの三さん重塔じゅうのとうは、改修かいしゅうされつつも、建たてられた時ときのものが残のこっています。

　多おおくの人ひとは、宗しゅう教きょう的てきな目的もくてきで、これらのお寺てらを訪おとずれます。

　中なかには、観光かんこうの目的もくてきで、これらのお寺てらを訪おとずれる人ひともいます。

Horyuji Temple

　The World Heritage Site introduced this time is “Buddhist monuments in the Horyuji area”.

　In 1993 (Heisei 5), it was registered as the first world cultural heritage in Japan along with Himeji Castle.

　This World Heritage Site includes various wooden structures inside the two temples, Horyuji Temple and Hokiji Temple.

　Horyuji Temple and Hokiji Temple are located in Ikaruga Town, Ikoma District, Nara Prefecture.

　Buddhism is a religion started by Buddha in India.

　Religion is about believing, respecting, and learning how to live beyond the power of humans and nature.

　When a person is born, we celebrate it in the religious way that parents and families believe.

　And when a person dies, he/she is mourned in the religious way that the dead person and his/her family believe.

　Religions include Christianity, Islam, and Hinduism.

　In the world, the number of people who believe in Buddhism is the fourth largest, but in Japan it is said to be the largest.

　Horyuji Temple was built by Prince Shotoku in 607 to spread Buddhism.

　It is said to be one of the oldest wooden temples in the world.

　Trees are more flammable than buildings made of stone, so it’s really amazing that there are still temples built out of wood over 1000 years ago.

　Horyuji Temple has many buildings such as the main hall, five-storied pagoda, central gate, and corridor.

　Hoki-ji Temple is also considered to be one of the seven large temples built by Prince Shotoku.

　It was actually built in 638, after Prince Shotoku’s death.

　The three-storied pagoda of Hoki-ji Temple has been renovated, but the one that was built remains.

　Many people visit these temples for religious purposes.

　Some people visit these temples for sightseeing purposes.
