白神山地（しらがみさんち）Shirakami Mountains

　白神山しらかみさん地ちは、日に本ほんにある世せ界かい遺い産さんのうち、自し然ぜん遺い産さんとして登録とうろくされている５ごか所しょのうちの１ひとつです。白神山しらかみさん地ちは、青森県あおもりけんの南西なんせい部ぶから秋あき田た県けんの北西ほくせい部ぶにかけて広ひろがる山さん地ちです。

　全体ぜんたいの面積めんせきは、13万まんヘクタールで、そのうちの約やく1万まん7千せんヘクタールが、1993年ねんに世せ界かい遺い産さんに登録とうろくされました。

　白神山しらかみさん地ちは、世せ界かい遺い産さん登録とうろく区く域いきの外側そとがわにも、広大こうだいな山林さんりんを持もち、通常つうじょうは、登録とうろく地ち域いき以い外がいも含ふくめて呼よばれています。

　白神山しらかみさん地ちには、ブナの原生林げんせいりんがあります。

　ブナは、シイタケ栽培さいばい以い外がいにあまり用よう途とがなく、家か具ぐや建物たてものに使つかわれることがありませんでした。

　白神山しらかみさん地ちのブナは、切きり倒たおされることがありませんでした。

　しかし、日に本ほんでこのようにほとんど手て付つかずのブナの原生林げんせいりんが残のこっているのは、白神山しらかみさん地ちだけです。

　白神山しらかみさん地ちには、天然てんねん記き念物ねんぶつのクマゲラが住すんでいます。

　クラゲマは、キツツキの仲なか間までも、一番大いちばんおおきな種類しゅるいです。

　クマゲラは、黒色くろいろの毛けをしており、頭あたまに赤あかい毛けが生はえています。

　クマゲラは、ブナなどの木きをつつき、穴あなをあけて住すんでいます。

　白神山しらかみさん地ちには、クマゲラの他ほかに、イヌワシやクマタカなどの鳥とりも住すんでいます。

　白神山しらかみさん地ちには、鳥とり以い外がいに、ツキノワグマ、ニホンザル、ニホンカモシカなども住すんでいます。

　秋あき田た県けんでは、群むれとしてのニホンザルが住すんでいるのは、白神山しらかみさん地ちだけです。

　しかし、最近さいきん、ニホンザルが、山やまから町まちにおりてきて、農作物のうさくぶつを荒あらす被ひ害がいも出でてきています。

Shirakami Mountains

　The Shirakami Mountains is one of the five World Heritage Sites in Japan that are registered as Natural Heritage Sites.

　The Shirakami Mountains are mountains that extend from the southwestern part of Aomori prefecture to the northwestern part of Akita prefecture.

　The total area is 130,000 hectares, of which about 17,000 hectares were registered as a World Heritage Site in 1993.

　The Shirakami Mountains have vast forests outside the World Heritage Site, and are usually referred to as areas other than the registered area.

　In the Shirakami Mountains, there is a primeval beech forest.

　Beech has little use other than growing shiitake mushrooms and was never used for furniture or buildings.

　Beech trees in the Shirakami Mountains were never cut down.

　However, the only remaining untouched beech forest in Japan is the Shirakami Mountains.

　Black woodpecker, a natural monument, lives in the Shirakami Mountains.

　The woodpecker is the largest species of woodpecker.

　Black woodpeckers have black hair and red hair on their heads.

　Black woodpeckers live by poking trees such as beech and making holes.

　In addition to black woodpeckers, birds such as golden eagles and mountain hawk-eagles also live in the Shirakami Mountains.

　In addition to birds, black bears, Japanese macaques, and Japanese serows also live in the Shirakami Mountains.

　In Akita Prefecture, Japanese macaques as a herd live only in the Shirakami Mountains.

　However, recently, Japanese macaques have come to the town from the mountains, causing damage to their crops.
