フードバンク　Food Bank

　世界せかいには、様々さまざまな問題もんだいがあります。飢餓きがもその一つです。

　飢餓きがというのは、食たべるものがない状態じょうたいのことです。

　世界せかいでも日本にほんでも食たべるものがなくて困こまっている人ひとがいるのに、食たべものを食たべないで捨すててしまうことがあります。

　そのような状態じょうたいを食物しょくもつロスといいます。

　食物しょくもつロスを少なくするためのしくみの１ひとつがフードバンク活動かつどうです。

　フードバンクは、英語えいごです。日本語にほんごでは、食たべものの銀行ぎんこうという意味いみです。

　フードバンク活動かつどうとは、家庭かていや、会社かいしゃや工場こうじょう、農家のうかなどにおいて、賞味しょうみ期限きげんは残のこっているけれどもいろいろな理由りゆうで、捨すててしまう食たべものを集あつめて、その食たべものを困こまっている人ひとに渡わたすしくみです。

　家庭かていからは、買かいすぎてしまい食たべる予定よていのない食たべものなどを集あつめます。

　会社かいしゃや工場こうじょうなどからは、印字いんじのミスや包装ほうそう袋ぶくろの汚よごれや売うれ残のこりなどで、中身なかみが食たべられるのに捨すてることになっている食たべものを集あつめます。

　農家のうかからは、豊作ほうさくでできすぎたために、捨すてるしかない野菜やさいなどを集あつめることもあります。

　そのような食たべものは、農林水産のうりんすいさん省と省しょういう役所やくしょやスーパーマーケットなどのフードバンクを行おこなっている団体だんたいを通とおして、困こまっている人ひとや福祉ふくし施設しせつなどに送おくられます。

 

Food Bank

　There are many problems in the world. Hunger is one of them.

　Hunger is a situation where there is no food to eat.

　There are people in the world and in Japan who are in need because they do not have food to eat, but sometimes food is thrown away without being eaten.

　Such a situation is called food loss.

　One mechanism to reduce food loss is food bank activities.

　Food bank activities are a mechanism to collect food that has expiration dates but is thrown away for various reasons at households, companies, factories, farmers, etc., and give the food to people in need.

　Food that has been overpurchased and is not planned to be eaten is collected from households.

　Food that can be eaten but must be thrown away due to misprinting, soiled wrappers, unsold items, etc. is collected from companies and factories.

　People also collect from farmers vegetables that have to be thrown away because of overproduction due to a bumper crop.　

　Such food is sent to people in need and welfare facilities through the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) and food bank organizations such as supermarkets.
